St Hilda’s

Crime Fiction Weekend

For more than three decades, the St Hilda’s Crime Fiction Weekend has brought together some of the biggest names in crime writing with readers who share a passion for a good mystery.

Founded in 1994, the Crime Fiction Weekend has become a much-loved fixture in the literary calendar, welcoming bestselling authors, emerging voices, critics, journalists and crime fiction enthusiasts to St Hilda’s College, University of Oxford, for a weekend of mystery, crime and fascinating conversations.

Held in the beautiful surroundings of St Hilda’s College, overlooking the River Cherwell, the weekend offers a unique opportunity to hear directly from the authors behind some of the most compelling crime fiction being published today. Across a packed programme of talks, interviews, panel discussions and special events, our speakers explore everything from the craft of writing and the realities of crime to the enduring appeal of the detective story.

Over the years, we have welcomed an extraordinary range of writers and voices from across the world of crime fiction. From established household names to exciting new authors, the weekend celebrates the breadth and diversity of the genre and provides a space for writers and readers to meet, exchange ideas and share their enthusiasm for crime fiction.

Whether you are a lifelong crime fiction fan, an aspiring writer, or simply someone who enjoys being kept guessing until the final page, there is something for everyone.

Going into its 34th year, the St Hilda’s Crime Fiction Weekend continues to celebrate the very best of crime fiction. Bringing together the authors you love, the stories that keep you turning the page, and a community of readers who can never resist asking: whodunnit?

We look forward to welcoming you to St Hilda’s.
